Can't have a pipe without a good cup O Joe. Not that fancy pants stuff just plain ole coffee I brew at home Maxwell house. And of course creamer for my ulcer.
No, didn't even read the article but, when you say PAIRING I think I get the gist.

Most any coffee goes with any smoke, for me.

I have noticed a conflict pairing some beverages with the pipe. As I said, no morning smokes for me…. It would be like drinking whiskey for breakfast to me.

I had too many scotches the other day after work. I was there for over 4 hours and it went well with my pipe, but I asked my bartender friend to please keep me in check, hehe.

... no morning smokes for me. It would be like drinking whiskey for breakfast to me. Well then, make mine a double! There's nothing finer than a good pipe or cigar with the morning coffee. ☕👍

I felt the same way for a long time, but I started smoking a pipe after breakfast with my coffee because it’s the one time of day where I consistently have control of my time. And tobacco and coffee are a match made in heaven. Thanks for sharing the article!

The perfect start to my day is some quiet time with a pipe and a cup of coffee.

I always found that not only coffee, but also tea or sparkling water pair best with a good pipeful, any time of the day.

I usually have a late breakfast (or early lunch?). Afterward, there's nothing like a cup of coffee with my pipe.

Cheerwine pairs well with some tobaccos. Other sodas not so much. Milk has paired well with most aros I have tried it with.

Also, I tend to pick my coffee blend based on what I've loaded in the morning's first pipe. We use a Keurig K-cup brewer. So, I always have about a half dozen blends on hand to pick from. If I'm having a straight Va, I tend to reach for a light roast blend like Green Mountain Ethiopia Supreme or McCafe Breakfast Blend. With a Burley blend, I go for a robust coffee like a straight Columbian or McCafe Regular. For a mild English blend, it could be any of the above of a flavored coffee like Hazelnut or Southern Pecan. I rarely start the day with a full English blend.

Three days a week, I sit with the wife and have coffee although she does not complain, she came back from Valley Fever (respiratory issue that can happen in the southwest) The other 4 days, I am either getting up early at home and do want to cut in my sleep… other times I am at a hotel. Might change on retirement when I have more time control.

The problem with upping your coffee game is the days you suffer with a mickey yah yahs or worse the dreaded Kcup concoctions. If you know you know.

I also use a Keurig brewer but I only brew one kind. Starbucks Pikes place. 2 pods in my mug, one 8 oz and one 6 oz. That is usually my coffee for the day.

Pikes Place is my coffe, just found out Cosco Kirkland coffe is Starbucks, medium roast, I believe 2.5 lbs for less than 15$, also wife’s purchase of a new coffe maker, Zojirushi takes way less coffee than our old Mr Coffee., 6 cups in the morning and I’m fueled up!

Coffee choice for me, Folger's classic roast, black.
