Our latest feature is a video of pipe maker and wood turner, Anthony Harris. I have had the pleasure of meeting Anthony twice, first in KC when I attended one of the GKCPC meetings. The next opportunity was at the 2015 Kansas City Pipe Show where I had the opportunity to chat with him quite a bit. Anthony has in my humble opinion, perfected the art of the double chamber pipe which is really the evolution of the calabash. Aside from their rather strange looks, they get rave reviews and have a pretty significant fan base. Anthony is a master wood worker. His creativity and ability with a lathe is astounding to watch. The video is a bit long, but when you have some time, is well worth a look. If you have interest in making pipes and or woodworking/wood turning, this is a must see as his skill--and unique sense of humor--is on display throughout. Enjoy! Be sure to check out his website as well: acmepipes.com/Home.php

Anthony took the RC a step further and actually did the math behind cooling the smoke! He breaks it all down on the double chamber page on his website. If you ever run across his table at a show he has tons of dodads and such that he has turned that are along for the ride. When it comes to lathe skilz I want to be like Anthony when I grow up!

I always find the process to be fascinating. It's a pleasure watching a true craftsman perform his or her art. Thanks for sharing.

Wow I watched the whole thing. Just amazing. I can see I need to take some classes on turning. I'm just winging it compared to what he is doing.

Anthony will tell you that he did things wrong for 20 years. Then he spent some time with another turner and has been doing things right ever since. I have been trying to find some time to spend in his shop and haven't managed it yet. Take a class if you can, it'll be worth it!

He has ones that look like Kenny from Southpark. I'm sure he is going to have some in Chicago.....and one will be coming home with me!

I have had the distinct pleasure of smoking and chatting with Mr. Harris at Cigar & Tabac's store in Overland Park, and while he was smoking one of his Double-Chamber pipes. They are fascinating.
