Packed and ready to leave in the morning. And coming home with eight to ten more pipes! I actually hope not. Helping the odds in my favor, a couple of my favorite vendors/makers won’t be there.

They tell me my room’s not ready at 3pm check in, to wait maybe half an hour. Also heard something about no hot water. Guy in front of me was canceling his room due to no hot water, so not sure if that’s one particular wing yet or what.

Back to the room, unloading my main haul. Found a tin of Tudor Castle (my white whale) and Beacon. He had a lot of Christmas Cheer, some Stz James Woods, British Woods, some of the Grand Reserve Orienals series and others of other brands. $50 50g tins, $100 100g. Bought an Ahmet Govem meer with nice lattice work, a Radice Rind large Oom Paul, and a teeny tiny Kaywoodie Campus squashed tomato. Bunch of special release tins for The Greywoodie Show, Emfalco signed all of them for me. Mid-Bird is coffee and bananas topping, VaPerRus! is a VaPer with Rustica, and Frostika 1800 is a 50% rustica and VA blend (I believe) cased in mint. Smells very minty from the sample tin. Going to head out to the smoking patio and smoke some something for sample jars I saw downstairs. - The room was sorted after about 25 minutes and my hot water seems to sort of work in my room.

When I checked in they told the people ahead of me about it; a boiler problem. Didn’t mention anything to me. My hot water seems to work fine.

I “worked” all day at the shop on Thursday and was lucky to check into my room Friday morning before a long lukewarm shower and needed sleep before setup! Love me the pipelife!

Friday night show haul. You can read the tins labels in the pic. The left half of the tins came from a guy who was trimming his cellar and had things priced to sell. Example: 7 year old Stratford for less than current retail new. Two pipes at the moment: Kaywoodie Relief Grain Canadian brand new from the factory A smoked once Italian made Stanwell Royal Guard 56 Canadian I usual shy away from Italian Stanwells because the wood used by the Italian contract manufacturer tastes different than the wood that was used by the Stanwell factory in Denmark. Also, smooth Italian Stanwells almost always have fills; noticeably more than Danish made ones. However, this once smoked pipe has fantastic grain. What you see in the pic is 360 around. Also, neither I nor Jesse Jones could find any fills. Out of my 25-ish Stanwells, this is my 4th Italian.

It looks like some great purchases by you guys… that guy didn’t care for his Stratford? Must be something wrong with him!😉
I was wondering about Jesse Jones, at one time there was a lot of buzz in the community and people clamored for his pipes, he put out nice stuff.
Then it was like he disappeared… hadn’t heard his name in quite awhile.

They also have their own in house production pipes for around $150 along with some fabulous artisans.

I was doing good until I saw a vendor who wasn’t here last night… I saw a section of his table marked with Danish flags… I now own a pair of estate Tonni Nielsen bamboo Billiards. 😎 At least I got a bundle discount. 😀
