What temperature is the best temperature for storing pipe tobacco? I've seen many different opinions online, but I wanted to get some information from you guys. Mine is around 74 degrees since that is set by my landlord. Thank you in advance for any information.

Whatever habitable condition you live in is fine, no storing in a garage where temps are 100° or more.
No storage shed in freezing temperatures.
75° temps are fine.

Best temp? I don't know. My guess would be something like 65 (and in the dark). But I agree with Charlie that any temp you're likely to keep your living quarters at is fine.

My goal is 60-75 degrees, I wouldn’t be concerned with cooler than that. I have accidentally stored some tobacco in my garage before, didn’t realize the jars were in the bottom of a box I took out there. Temps went from both extremes, we had lows of -15 in the winter to highs of 100 in the summer. I found them about five years later. Interestingly, they weren’t ruined. Some, but not all had a slightly sharp flavor to them, I don’t know how else to describe it. There was some SG FVF that wasn’t very good and it smoked harshly. There was a whole block of 3P’s however that was astoundingly good.

I think 50-80 you are fine. Mine is stored at 65-72 year after year. Always good when I pop a tin or open a jar. Even stuff that is decades old.

I've heard tell of folks intentionally storing sealed tins of tobacco in their cars during the summer to stove the tobacco inside with the high temps that build up. I suspect it works best with Virginia-based blends, but I've not tried it on my own.

I have done this unsystematically, in a way, but it was not storage as such--it was just a habit of having an open tin in the car for my daily commute. If I think of it, which is an increasingly chancy business, I'll try it with a VaPer or such next summer.
