A new cane today! Maybe a pipe in the future!

Today A group of people delivered to me a Hand carved cane. The canes are free to people with disabilities so they can have pride in a cane and not look "old and sick" using a hospital cane.
I asked the man that my cane if ever carved pipes and he said "not yet" and winked at me. He said he cobs as a kid but never carved a piece of briar. I showed him the "Hobby Blocks" in the P/C catalogue, which he took a picture of, and said give him a few weeks so he can cut some shop scraps into the general shape of the blocks and practice carving pipes then send him a hobby block. Based on the cane he made me I am sure he will make a nice pipe.
