So I bought this pipe several years ago and was looking at it today and it has Peterson 925 K stamped on the silver. Why doesn't it say 305 I wonder?? Any ideas? Bought new from reputable dealer. TIA

That's a stamp indicating the purity of the silver that the band is made of. You'll often see the same thing on sterling silver wedding bands or other jewelry.

"Assuming these marks are on the silver band, 925 means it's sterling silver and K means it is hallmarked 2021 assuming it looks like the K below:

You should see 305 on the briar part stamped on the shank."
