Friday evening we had the neighbor and her family in for toco soup. It was a wonderful time ,with laughter and a few tears, as her Father has just lately passed away... we feasted on cornbread and toco soup, and a huge apple crisp the wife baked, and enjoyed the company of Stacie, her grown son and daughter, and her sister...we carried on well into the night. This evening Stacie came by ,after the tenth day of cleaning out her dad's home. She gave my wife a lovely antique lamp from the twenties and wanted me to look at a box of pipe related items...a 4pk pipe rack, a Brewster billiard with saddle stem, a little Kaywoodie Drinkless, and a Whitehall Canadian in like new condition, and a gold-clad "singing lighter " that plays a tune when wound up...and, a sealed pouch of Half & Half, a sealed pouch of a Borkum Riff I've never seen, it's royal blue in color and reads Deluxe Black Cavendish, plus an almost full pouch of Middelton Apple, an old favorite of mine... For what they're worth, I gave her my thoughts on her treasures , and offered to clean up the pipes and mentor her son away from the vape he seems so taken with...he told me to keep the tobacco, and with her bright smile she gifted me the sweet old Canadian...I'm beside myself, and the old boy has a place of great pride, up front in my collection.
