There was a time when this was considered Louisville's day at the races before the Derby circus was expanded into a two day mega event. Celebrating by popping a tin of McClelland 2017 Christmas Cheer. I rather liked the 2016 version over the holidays and saved the 2017 for this event. Loading it up in a smooth, straight grain, 1/4 bent 2006 Mark Tinsky Rhodesian, drinking Trader Joe's coffee and listening to local radio personalities broadcasting live from Churchill Downs this morning on the radio. Local TV coverage of all the races and festivities picks up later this morning.

Now having another bowl of 2017 McClelland Christmas Cheer in a smooth James Upshall Tilshead Canadian, getting ready to get the blanket out, settle into the easy chair with the Friday night PBS line up and probably crash hard when the sun goes down.
