Hello all, As many of you here know, I recently acquired 29 Tobacco Store Jars, most of them with tobacco still in em. However 3 or 4 of the jars are missing their seals... I would appreciate any help ya'll might have on where I can find replacement seals/gaskets. The jars are Anchor Hocking Apothecary/Candy Jars.

Try contacting Anchor Hocking they may have replacement seals. You could also try Hobby Lobby, Michaels or other stores like them.

Try Goodwill or a local thrift shop.I see those jars selling for a buck or two. You may also try Wal-mart or Big Lots for the jars but you will pay a few dollars more for brandy new jars.

If you find that you don't smoke aromatics, (and I suspect that most of them are) you might want to see if you can wheel and deal with a local tobacconist for store credit.
When we have our pipe club meeting, I always see three or four people buying a couple of ounces of aromatic, I try to let them know about our pipe club if I sense that they are approachable.....One guy came in to buy tobacco for a Christmas party to burn it to give an old fashioned sense of his departed uncle there...A lot of aromatic smokers don't seem to gravitate to the pipe club meentality from what I have seen...more of solitary smokers....But they buy the lions share of the tobacco produced.

Ya know, I did a lot of searching for those type seals and I don't think they make them anymore. Ya just might have to find a ring style seal that'll fit on those lids. Just search glass jar seals or glass canister seals and you'll come up with quite a few. Back in the day when I lived near a tobacco shop I remember a lot of the glass canisters hadn't a seal at all and this might have been their way to dry some of the blends out slowly beings some can come pretty wet.
