Well that's quite a number of exciting WAYS posts: Jim's pipe anniversary, Tsal's (gorgeous!!!) new pipe, and mention of Glengarry Flake! Which I am out of at the moment...
But I am not even close to being out of MB Mixture; burning some now in the Stanwell bulldog.

Smoking Sam Gawith's St. James Flake in a John Cotton belge. Also smoking a mixture of Rum Twist, Tudor Castle, and Haunted Bookshop extras in an MM Mark Twain. I sometimes smoke 2-5 pipes at the same time, and some here will know. Typically if you see me smoking several pipes it means I'll be smoking one for 5-10 minutes and pick up another blend and smoke that one 5,10 minutes then pick up another, and so on. This is to help make a certain blend pop and pull out flavor nuances. Transitioning blends sometimes works well. Sometimes it's just fatiguing.

Relaxing after a wonderful chicken teriyaki dinner with a bowl of Stonehaven in a straight sandblasted pre-transition Barling Exel 249 Fossil T.V.F. black billiard with a silver band and a black ebonite military bit. Watching the Yankees-Angels game. Suzy and Molly just had tuna primavera and are happily licking their choppers.

In mind of Grimpeur being on the premises, I am smoking Sutliff: Ready Rubbed Match in an Algiers bowled Falcon with Dental bit.* Chilled water accompanies. Cheers.
*once you adjust to it, the dental bit makes a great clencher. standard stem Falcon's always bothered me in that regard and I didn't get on with the bent either, so glad I made the choice I did.

After dinner smoke of Sutliff: Mixture #79 in a dedicated H&B vintage cob. Drink is a diet Pepsi. 85°F here today, which probably seems cool to those of you in the heatwave spreading across the country. Good smoke evening greetings to members and guests, worldwide and stateside.

I feel the same about a stock Falcon bit. But, I never met a pipe I wouldn't modify to suit me: I thinned down the bit, quite a lot, of every Falcon I own. Result: complete, all-day clenching comfort, not recommended for chewers though! A few weeks ago, I blended a Mac Baren "Half & Half": Virginia No.1 and Golden Extra mixed fifty-fifty. I liked it fresh, a little time in the jar has made it really good; this is an experiment I will be repeating in the future.
