My day ends with one more bowl of Mac Baren "half & half" in a Stanwell pot, with a couple of pinches of SG High Mill snuff to boot.

Smoking Sam Gawith's St. James Flake in a John Cotton belge. Also smoking a mixture of Rum Twist, Tudor Castle, and Haunted Bookshop extras in an MM Mark Twain. I sometimes smoke 2-5 pipes at the same time, and some here will know. Typically if you see me smoking several pipes it means I'll be smoking one for 5-10 minutes and pick up another blend and smoke that one 5,10 minutes then pick up another, and so on. This is to help make a certain blend pop and pull out flavor nuances. Transitioning blends sometimes works well. Sometimes it's just fatiguing. Sounds too much like hard work mate! But, seriously, interesting, might give it a whirl on the weekend.

About to call JimInks to have a little chat. Last smoke of the day is Edgeworth Ready Rubbed Match in a very much appreciated 1979 brown, slight bend grain etched flat front Stanwell Rego 969-48 (09) with a black vulcanite stem. I'm chatting with Headrott, and learning about how he fries eggs.

After the sweetness of the GH B&B, I'm going for a bit of the spiciness that's part of the MB Roll Cake experience. In the Grabow CDL.

Interesting fact for you -- smoking while walking is called "lunting" and there is an International Lunting Society some of us belong to!

Waking up with Derby Club Aromatic in a cob with a forever stem, coffee on the side. This blend is definitely best in a cob. Good morning!

Dunhill EMP in Parker Prince. Also so if there are any Parker experts, I have 2 questions. To begin I won this during the silent auction at the Chicago Pipe Show. question 1 it does not have a P stamped on the stem, does this indicate it is replacement? 2. All the stampings on bottom occur correct and there is a 97 stamped on it, is that the year it was made? photo of stampings

Both of the pipes posted this AM are great smokers and for the price (50 for UPCA and 55 for the Parker), they were both steals IMO.

antb thanks for the link! Unfortunately it doesn't address my specific questions but I can make my assumptions (which is dangerous ) based on the information that is described. Did you say it was unsmoked? I wouldn't think it would be a replacement stem if that was the case. The date codes are sort of unknown on Parkers it seems after the 60s. 97 may mean 1997, and maybe the late 1990's Parkers didn't have stem stamps. I'd check with DMCMTK (Dave) at PSU, he's DukeSt.Dave on PipeMag. He knows quite a bit about pipe nomenclature.
