Yes indeed! In school we had WV Studies class, and in that class everyone took a knowledge test. Those who scored high went on for a Statewide test called The Golden Horseshoe -- all about State History. Birthed in War and controversy, and we've been square pegs ever since, lol.

I traveled through WV many times in the old days on my way back and forth between Michigan and Carolina.It's a beautiful state.I once visited a place outside Beckley called Grand View.Looking off the top of a mountain at a gorge so deep that the river below looked about the size of a straw.It was so beautiful I didn't want to leave,but I had more miles to travel.When I first got married there weren't any interstates.We had to travel those those old mountain roads.What a nerve racking experience.I hope you're enjoying the day Margret.

Thank you! I like those old mountain roads  Grandview is a beautiful place, and if you liked that you should have swung by the New River Gorge, that is another amazing view and it isn't far away. We are enjoying our day.
