On July 8th-9th, Darin (Cobguy) has generously offered to host the Arizona pipe club meeting at the Northern High Chapparal in Rimrock Arizona, about 2 hours north of southern Phoenix, about 1 hour and change if you were to live on the north side. With so many new members, I am not sure if any new draftees are from Arizona so if you are interested, give me a private message and i can give you the particulars. The existing members in our club have already been emailed with the directions and added details.
I Google mapped his address...bring your hiking boots! From Darin: The cliff castle casino is nearby and has some really nice rooms at reasonable prices. www.cliffcastlecasinohotel.com/

Thanks, Charlie ... looking forward to seeing you soon. Still waiting for final word but we may have a few from the Flagstaff chapter down, as well!

I might make the 2000 mile trek if you promise to break out the homegrown Semois.

With the heatwave your having there, if you invite JimInks, he can leave his utensils at home and just fry eggs on the rocks!

LOL!
That small batch is gone and wasn't much to write home about ... unlike yours! No crop at all this year, besides the usual veggie garden, and hope to start up again next season.
So true ... it's supposed to dip back into the 90's by next week!

Just a reminder to our fellow pipers, coming up this weekend..check your emails. One of our members has an extra queen bed and is commuting up through Phoenix through Tucson, he would like to pick up someone for company on the ride and split the hotel room that has an extra queen bed..for $50.00 that is quite a bargain, and the hotel rooms look awesome. I received a contact from a Cigar smoker named James that does cigar reviews and he expressed an interest in attending our meetings, I invited him to come up this weekend, but as of yet I haven't heard back from him... it was just yesterday that I received his email.www.youtube.com/user/honestcigarreviewsLookiung forward to Cobstock 2017!

It sounds like you have 'puter issues on your end, I would abstain from sending any sensetive information until you get it sorted out.

Have fun got to work and even without that I'm currently broke. We wish that you could have made it Mike, it was a lot of Fun! As typically is the case at pipe club meetings goes, I enjoy myself so much that I fail to take the pictures that really should be taken. My apologies for not getting John R. and his bride's picture from the first day, or any real group pictures. Darin and his wife provided a wonderful venue to get together, the hospitality and food was excellent, it was a very good time of conversation, and each and every one of us had a really great time. Darin recently relocated to his new job, and he got a realy nice casa in the hills, and like most pipesmokers, he married "up"...a pretty gal with a personality to match.... Just before we got there, literally a couple of hours before, the first monsoon wave came through of the season that I am aware of, cooled things off and gave us a comfortable breeze. First the host loading up one of many bowls. Next is a view from the side of the house, a really great job all over the property with retaining walls, and stonework like we see around the trees near the home. Gary in an unauthorized picture, pretty cool Arizona room behind him. The smoke shack on the property...and he has a lot of pecan and mesquite on the property to provide the smoke! A pretty cool garden with professionally installed chain link fence to keep earthbound and non earthbound critters out...need a finer mesh to keep the tobacco worms out though...we learned that they like tomatillos (plant in foreground) This Quonset hut is the nicest I have ever seen, fully insulated and climate controlled with quite a decent amount of square footage for the hobbyist he is, unfortunately, I failed to take a pic of the main part of the building interior...tons of power points for the most avid hobbyist. At the opposite end are two different entry doors with two different office spaces, one is Darin's pipe room amply stocked with tinned leaves and those leaves that are in the process of being made to his liking.... his wife told us that even with the heat wave, since these two finished office areas are in an insulated building with the A/C off, they stay really cool. The tatted guy and gal are my son in law that is a deputy warden, and my daughter that works at GoDaddy and is going to create our pipe club website..Sedona my granddaughter is in the beatles shirt scampering off picture. Gary, Darin and Noah from Flagstaff...Noah brought some snuffs that were pretty much stellar. And the view from the nicely finished porch at the end of the quonset hut. The home is a beautiful A Frame home with well engineered additions to each end that greatly complement that A frame, beautiful pine woodwork inside, and a really large loft...outside, my granddaughter saw the pool and played in the treehouse (neither pictured) and I think she is ready to move in.... The breakfast this morning was equally as awesome, a hearty breakfast, time with the briars and cobs, before we headed back home. Thanks Darin, it was awesome!

It was a great weekend and we really enjoyed having you all here! However, Cobstock 2018 will be planned during more "predictable" weather. LOL Also, thank you guys very much for the gifts you brought ... Cobs and Ropes? ... heck yeah!
