I had some Cotton Boll Twist, which I enjoy but find the buttery/squash-like raw Burley flavor a bit much. I mixed it 70-30 with Hal O' The Wynd and discovered an instant favorite. The Burley provides the muscle, both in Lady N and in flavor, and the Rattray's sweetens it and widens the flavor profile. Delicious and satisfying. Only issue is that now I'm out of both components. Ooops.

That is an interesting combo. I have some HOTW on hand but never had Cotton Boll. I'll have to ponder this.

I tried the Cotton Boll... once.
Honestly, I think it was too dried out and I didn't get a true interpretation of the flavor. I should try it again sometime and get it fresh. Pain that the only place you can find it is Lil Brown.

Hmm... that sounds interesting. I have heard about Cotton Boll but never tried it. Strong with a bit of sweet added in, sounds right up my alley. Might have to give this one a whirl.

@deathmetal, that sounds like an interesting combo. I've been wanting to try the Cotton Boll. I live in a rural mountain town and I just noticed at the grocery store a few different twists for sale. The only one I can recall is Mammoth Cave. Ever tried this one or any other American twists?
