... or the best for me anyway. Disclaimer: I have many pipes.
I used to smoke whatever in whichever pipe. A while back, though, I established this rotation, which works great for me:
I divide my tobacco in to four categories: burley-dominant, Virginia-dominant, heavy latakia, and aromatic. Each category gets six briars and two meers. I also keep a couple of cobs around for those afternoon Carter Hall cravings.
With that many pipes per category, you won't have to use the same pipe twice in one day, There's also a wide selection of pipes to enjoy. I have not dedicated any pipes to a particular tobacco, but I'm considering dedications for OGS and Bob's Chocolate Flake.

How about pipe shape ... different for your Va's vs Lat or Burley blends? I tend to reach for taller pipes for Va's and larger, more rounded pipes for English. Burley is a whore and smokes every pipe! LOL

I've never had any kind of rotation, other than "hey, this week I'm going to put this Grabow, this Savinelli, and these cobs into my pipe pouch and smoke them all week."
I do have a few dedicated pipes, one French Gefapip from the late 60's, it's a wire rusticated Canadian dedicated to Orlik Golden Sliced.
I have a Merkur 2000 bent apple that is dedicated to Ennerdale Flake, and not because I'm worried about smoking Ennerdale in any of my other pipes, but these two dedications is purely to worship those blends which are favorites of mine.
My cobs see mostly strong unflavored burley blends, dark fireds, etc. but also smoke anything else as well.
At any given time I may decide to just start smoking another blend in a pipe that has been smoking one blend for months. I have not much rhyme or reason to any of it.

I do not dedicate most pipes with the exception of a vintage cob and a meer lined ceramic Billiard that are reserved for Mixture #79. I have a lot of cobs and where duplicate models exist, I smoke them in numerical order as being sensitive little buggers, I don't want to ruffle their kernels.
