This past pay day,(coming both monthly and weakly at that) I ordered a pound each of Low Country's Natural Virginia and Burley, and their Strawberry.
Product: Low Country Natural Virginia & Burley Bulk
In the bag I got the normal grassy, hay like aroma, with a hint of the burley's nuttiness. It is a fine ribbon cut, close to being a shag. It was a bit moist out of the bag. It packed easily, like a shag, It lit easily too.The flavor to me is mild w... ith a little of the Virginia's bite. No flavorings or toppings noted, it's all natural baccy. I'd say the burkey adds vitamin N, a bit of mildness and maybe a hint of nuttiness, No reviews of the aroma from the wife yet. Being an old pipe smoker I don't detect any harshness. My first smoke of this tobacco was in a Nording Sailor, brand new out of the bag. I see this possibly becoming my go to tobacco. It's price doesn't hurt this prospect, or the wallet. Thanks Low Country folks for a nice blend.
Product: Low Country Strawberry Bulk
Like it's name, even before you open the bag you smell Strawberry. In the bag and in the pipe you get strawberry. It is a little moist in the bag, but due to it's fine ribbon cut it is usually easy to light. It is pretty mild, with lots of strawberry flavor coming through. The aroma is great! Unlike many aromatics, it is mild, without a lot the tongue scorching bite. No hint of this or that, it's Strawberry!
I got the stuff to check it out, and it's reasonable price didn't hurt either. (At Smokingpipes.com Their own blends.)

LC Natural sounds pretty good ... does it come fairly dry? I really like their Waccamaw blend in all it's tangy goodness!

Interesting, Grumpy. Thanks for the reviews. Does C&D make these for the store, I'm assuming?

I need to order some of Low Country's product. Waccamaw is in my cart, but not in my cellar yet. Now I am interested in trying both the VaBur and the Strawberry. Good reviews. Thanks.

Thanks folks. I found by smoking the Natural Va.and burley I'd been packing it too tightly. A looser packing results in a milder cooler smoke. The same is true of the Strawberry.

I'm trying the third Low Country blend. This it's the Natural Virginia and Oriental. Certainly not an aromatic, just tobacco flavor. There is no strong odor from the bag, no grassiness, or vinegar, just a hint of sweetness. Smoking it there is no "In your face" flavors. Just mild tobacco taste, with the hints of the VA. and oriental. I'm experiencing kind of a sweet and sour thing, a hint of sweet and some sour. Certainly Turkish in there. I'm getting little of the VA. bite. Pretty mild in my book.
As for the cut, they say ribbon, well it's a narrow ribbon, if not close to a shag. The tobacco burns well, leaving only whitish ash, no glob of wet doddle.
The pipe I used was an unstamped T. Christiano I got at the Chicago pipe show. It's almost unsmoked having only smoked two or three times before. So pretty much not broken in yet, so no offending ghosting of other tobaccos.

What does your wife think about the room note of the Strawberry blend?
