I am unable to load a couple of pic threads on my tablet. Due to pic size, I time out, browser stops and I have to close the window and log back in. Not expecting anyone to cater to my limitations, but if there is an option to crop photos, it could be considered? . . . . . . . . .just sayin'

My trouble is that most of the photos don't show up for me at work ... only at home.

I use my iPad 90% of the time around the house and haven't had any issues either viewing or posting via a photo sharing site, What type of internet connection do you have? I have cable with stupid silly fast speeds for both uploading and downloading.

I have the high speed internet connection provided by Century Link (one of the dumbest corporate names I have ever heard).

Not sure if this helps, but here are my speeds, you should test yours (several free sites offer it)

I have the high speed internet connection provided by Century Link (one of the dumbest corporate names I have ever heard). I'm really familiar with Century Link, I work in the business of telecomm and have worked with them. They typically offer a basic 1.5-3 Mbps speed as their first tier. Run a speed test on either speedtest.net or speed of.me and post your results here. It could be a slower cable connection at peak traffic times slowing you to a crawl.

I used to have problem like that . Too many devices on the network . I solved that with a better wifi extender ,in my case a Netgear EX6200 .I am on a sharded network or grab the net from McDonalds or Starbucks with a old dish and a yagi antenna from about four miles away . The wife and myself live in a Fifth Wheel backed up to a lake in a RV park . Anything less than 5mbps you are going to have issues . The other thing is , if your house is well built it is pretty hard for that signal to go through a couple walls of sheetrock . It is not like your cable provider is supplying you with top of line gear to make a in home Wi-fi network .

Yeah, I see no site issues with loading any pictures or any slowness server side and I'm on a moderate 20-25 Mbps down connect here. Century Links first and second tier of high speed is notoriously slow and especially slow with lots of images and JavaScript crap running at peak times on a cable copper backbone. Once Mike posts his speedtest.net results I'll know what to recommend from there.
The reason I ask all this and didn't address image compression is that if images are having that much trouble loading you have a connection slow enough compression or using slightly smaller images isn't going to address the issue.

Didn't want to download an app, so used: speed of.me 2 Test Results:
Download: 6:26Mbps/11:06 Mbps Upload: 0.77 Mbps/0.76 Mbps
Never had these issues with my Hitachi laptop running EXP.

When MS dropped XP support, I resolved to not spend anymore $ & bought this Tagital T9X9 Quad Core Android for $50.00 on Amazon. Probably not upgradeable. Quite basic, but I only forum, email, and limited shopping.

That should be find and depending on the load on the coax could be slowing you down with those speeds. Please let me know if you continue to have any problems. What thread is causing the problem as well.

It's not the connection speed. I am very rural. I do not have cable as I am 3 miles from the nearest cable. I live 23,000 feet from the local AT&T CO (local phone switch). The best internet connectivity available for my house is 3Mbps ADSL. I have been posting pics here just fine from both my iPad and my MacBook. Trust me on this; I am attached to Engineering at a major networking equipment company. It's not the bandwidth of the connection.
Look for a solution that doesn't point at bandwidth.

May be a browser problem. I unclicked format to screen size and page overview on the factory browser. Experimenting with my alternate browser Opera-Mini, some improvement, but it is like a tube radio with bad wiring. Its buggy & they update it every 6 weeks or so.

Mike, off topic but I've been dying to ask: why are they so truculent?

Eh, except I've worked with rural Digital Subscriber lines and their 3 megabit connects are actually often times faster than an urban 3-6 "claimed" cable line with too much load. These copper backbones are getting antiquated and these companies don't care you're getting throttled unless you complain and complain. Of course it can be his tablet, and that tablet does not have high specs. He does have a fast enough connection pictures should be loading fine. Also, I'm CCNA certified, provision Cisco commercial switches and routers for a living for AT&T, Sprint, T Mo, and Verizon 4G cell rings. I'm also a network engineer.

Install google Chrome on it, it's the fastest WebKit mobile browser.

I have the high speed internet connection provided by Century Link (one of the dumbest corporate names I have ever heard). Yeah, But Lancelot Link is the CEO...pretty cool guy. I had them for a month, and the customer service was definitely ran by those in his tribe...so I returned to Cox.

at one time, got sweet talked into doing Chrome. Immediately had our techie dump it as there was no box at the top with a web address. couldn't copy/paste anything. Back to original IE & no problems. Yeah, all at least at the chats know I'm a dinosaur but so what. Works for my/our usage.

Thanks to all for the positive input. I have resolved the issue with a new Android browser app named: Brave. Pic's now load properly and quickly. No more timing out, reloading, 5 minute wait for WAYS to load or 1 to 2 minute response when clicking Like button.

I'd forgotten about this thread. I'm sure glad to hear that the issue was software. What browser did you use previously? Good news.
