I had ordered 5 tins on Friday. They should be here Monday. I never tried the original, but G.l.Pease and GH make good Virginia based blends, so I am expecting something nice. If it's good enough I may order some more (if it's still in stock........)

Got my order over the weekend. This is really excellent stuff. My other favorites are McClelland's 40th Anniversary, Full Virginia Flake, and Best Brown Flake, but the Stonehenge has moved to the top of the list for me.

Not being a fancier of aromatics I'll get a tin just to see what all the excitement is about. As always, I wish such things came in bulk. I'm cheap and don't care for paying as much for 2oz. tinned as I would for 4 oz. bulk. Thankfully G.L. Pease and C&D sell a full 2 oz. in their tins, not the 50 grams or less, as do many others.

I ordered a tin just to see what all the fuss was about. I also ordered Gandalf & Hogwart Louisiana Perique and Ennerdale. I got more Low Country but this time I got the Virginia and Oriental .

Mine came in on Friday and I wasted no time in opening a tin. After all, why wait for it to grow a white beard? The lakeland is very present, but not overpowering, and harmonizes extremely well with the other components. There is some cocoa in the topping, which enhances the natural cocoa flavor of the Malawi. It's a bit like a chocolate mint kind of thing. Not getting much of the Perique, but I don't really care. It's a very well constructed blend.

I just got some of the new Stonehenge, some G&H Louisiana Flake, and some of the original Stonehenge. I'm going to see what the differences may be.

So JimInks you home from the Las Vegas show? Yes. I got home after one a.m. And glad about it, too.

I'm almost finished smoking the Louisiana Flake. While it is similar to Stonehenge, there are enough differences that I would say they are not the same. It has a little more perique. It has less cocoa and more Lakeland with the Lakeland being slightly different in taste (more vanilla, more floralness) as well as hanging around longer in LF. Also, I don't detect burley in LF.
I'm going to smoke the two Stonehenge productions again to check my thoughts on them. The differences mainly seem to be what happens when one is aged and one is fresh.

The LPF I sent you Jim was a year old in the jar and aside from Stonehenge being really fresh, the main differences I note are the slightly stronger cocoa in the fresh Stonehenge (may be the same with same age) and the Malawi burley. I haven't noticed a Perique difference yet.
