So I bought an older nording freehand. I really really like how it looks BUT the stem is pretty crooked and the drilling is a bit off. It wasn't disclosed in the auction and the photos are somewhat strategically taken to NOT highlight this. I'm torn if I should send it back or not. I'm tempted to just fit it with a new stem or learn to love it. I've bought several pipes from this seller and they do Very nice work. This is more an issue with the original manufacturing. Look at this on eBay www.ebay.com/itm/253002359048

It does look good from afar...
Returns are accepted; maybe hold onto it for a few days? If you had held it in your hand in a shop, would you have bought it?

That seller is somewhat infamous for their photography and their somewhat murky past. I'd say that if the pie draws well and smokes OK for you then keep it. A good pipe repair person could probably improve the drilling.

Every time you pick it up you will think about the defect and how you should have returned it.

Contact seller and describe the misfitting stem that was cleverly obfuscated in his pictures. Ask for a 75% refund that you must contribute towards an attempt at repair. His acceptance of your generous offer will not only stave off much undue inconvenience to you for return shipping hardships, but also a very unfavorable feedback for deceptive nondisclosure of the obvious defect. Provide Shiny with a good picture clearly showing the defective alignment.

Great advice from Baboo. But if you like the pipe for $70 a new Nording costs just a little more.

Well, I smoked it last night. The new nordings don't look like this one. It's unique and that's why I liked it, but... It's a little gurgley. Lesson learned. I have a friend that'll fix it up.

Pretty sure I'm done with them. They have often been mentioned in other forums as to their reputation.

So, shiny pipes got back to me and said she'd had someone helping her with the auctions. She said he'd uploaded pictures of an entirely different pipe. She said she'd take it back and return my money including return shipping. That's honorable anyway.
