They got their trademark close to the time our first B&M setup downtown in Fort Wayne, IN and our chain of Riegel's Pipe and Tobacco is still going over 110+ years family owned tobacconist. I do love the history of Missouri Meerschaum. England and France have their old briar and meerschaum pipe companies and here in America our oldest pipe company still around is still making cobs.

What a great story about an immigrant that lost everything, looked towards America as he saw the industrial revolution taking place, took some risks and was rewarded for his industriousness and stick-to-it nature. What a great legacy, and the Morgan's are doing a great job in furthering that legacy.

Phil is a great guy and does great work, but he does not own MM. He is the General Manager and is an employee. We'll all miss him when he retires shortly.

Thanks for the clarification...assumption on my part. It's a very common assumption. It's what I thought as well until I heard Phil interviewed by Brian Levine.

Thanks for the clarification...assumption on my part. It's a very common assumption. It's what I thought as well until I heard Phil interviewed by Brian Levine. I heard the same interview, but in the hard crag's of my cranium, that fact eluded me. I recently listened to Brian's interview of Mark Ryan and picked up on stuff I missed on the first go-around.
