COFFEE! If I'm addicted to anything it's coffee. I like it strong, no cream and sweetener. As an effort to reduce my sugar intake I started using the pink stuff. For me coffee is a must have.
Last Christmas we were given a Keurig coffee maker. We really like it. Never a flat or old mug of coffee. Always fresh!
The wife likes to try different flavored coffees and tea. Some stuff she tries has neither in them, like cocoa.
I was shopping in Dollar General yesterday . I saw some K-cup coffee by Clover Valley, Dollar General's brand, which was called "Ultimate Caffeine". Intrigued I got a box. I've found it to be bold, flavorful and not too bitter like some "Bold" coffees (the famous coffee shop from Seattle).
I'm now puffing a bowl of C&D Crooner while sipping the good coffee. It doesn't get much better.

Miss Daisy and I started using a "k-cup" coffee maker recently. We use reusable containers and put in our own coffee which is cheaper than purchasing the K-cups. The brand we prefer is Community coffee and I drink it neat.

My wife sure loves her coffee in the mornings, me? so,so and defininitely cannot understand how centuries ago someone roasted coffee beans, made a hot drink out of it and thought that it tasted good...lol
Watch that pink sweetener, it is some nasty stuff, do your Google search on the health problems caused by it. You should look into using a sweetener made from the Stevia plant, which has no nasty chemicals in it.
There are lots of coffee fanatics these days. I just watched a video on Baristas. Never knew you could win a National Championship for how you can brew coffee.

I am totally with you Bruce! My favourite is Indian Mysoor Nuggets, freshly ground and cooked in my percolator. It really doesn´t get better than this.

Grumpy,we have a Keurig knockoff that has been collecting dust for a few years...when we used it we used the screen for our own coffee, even though the coffee made that way tasted better than brewing in the "Mr Coffee" it wasn't until maybe 3 months ago when we pulled the trigger and bought some K-cups..WHAT A SURPRISE!! All I need now is to find Peterson Dublin Blend in K-cups...

I used to only drink Eight O'Clock 100% Columbian , but they changed to the Columbian Peaks and it wasn't the same. Lost alot of flavor. Switched to Green Mountain Free Trade Columbian

I recently read about the body composition and the acidic or alkaline extremes and its effect on the body. There was a physicist who had shown that disease could not exist in a alkaline environment. A chart showed liquids, and coffee, tea, and all sodas were high on the acidic end.

I'll have to disagree because one sip of Lemonade which is high in acid will give me immediate acid reflux and later that night if I drink more will give me pain in the stomach as if it were being ripped out with pliers. I've had an ulcer (Peptic and untreatable with drugs) most of my life along with acid reflux. I know what my body will take and what it won't. And it's not really the acid that causes it, it's the part of lining of the stomach that is missing the protective mucus membrane protecting the lining of the stomach from the hydrochloric acid that exists in it naturally. So any extra acid naturally boosts the effects.

Yes indeed they will but, there are some things we love enough to deal with their effects. Coffee with cream seems not to give me the problem as bad and ice tea doesn't seem to affect me at all but, the sodas and citrus drinks do a lot which I stay clear of. In fact my physical makeup is so high in acid it'll literally eat the bezel of any wristwatch so it's been years since I've even worn one.

Most of the coffee I drink is free, since I easily pump over 1,500 gallons of diesel fuel every month at love's truck stop, coffee soda fountain, tea, are free...the house mild if it is fresh, (usually is) is pretty palatable.
On the weekends it's usually Folgers or Yuban Columbian...no fancy coffee's for us.

Use to have to drink that damn Fly'en "J" coffee all the time cause it was the only truck stop on that side of ten before I hit Az. Now that stuff will rust your gut. Never stopped at a Love's even though we have one just down the road. Rip Griffin's was my place for a good meal and Joe. And on occasion the 76 when they still had a part roped off for drivers.

Ethiopian or Kenyan for those harder beans that will take a darker roasting without being ruined. It's been a little while but I also have a Behmor 1600 and roast my own coffee a pound at a time. The green beans are always ordered from Sweet Maria's online as they visit each plantation personally to ensure quality processing and fair treatment of the workers.

I have my big mug of strong coffee within reach almost at all times. I'm wanting to try different coffees, like I do different tobaccos. I was pleasantly surprised when I brewed some Clover Valley "Ultimate Caffeine" a Dollar General brand. I too have the little filters with which I can what ever coffee I'd like. Being more ignorant of the coffees available, than tobaccos, I'll need to research it
.
