I had already posted this pipe but I consider it to be pretty bad arse. The Pipe Club of London 2019 POY by Armellini Mauro. ...yeah, that qualifies...

JAndrew is the pipe's carver.. He was active around the 1970-90s. I have a number of JAndrew pipes that I could post under this thread. Being a custom ordered pipe standing over 14", it is quite an impressive carving best appreciated in person. I purchased it on eBay a few years ago with a few other designs. PS Please note the carvers name was included with the original picture post, after the first picture, take a look.😁

I met them a few years ago at the Chicago Pipe Show. Great people. I have quite a few of their pipes.

Stunning pipe...in its' own way...not something I would buy, but still very unusual and interesting. Truly not for everyone, however when it comes to pipe design I love freehands, from the unrestricted exotics (There is a point where they become silly, ugly etc and do not attract my interest.)to traditional pipe variations. This pipe should be seen to be really appreciated or at the very least better pictures would help. Still I trust folks can understand why I posted these pictures under the thread badass pipes.

...more of a traditional English guy myself, but always marvel at the creativity... and the prices... Funny enough I do enjoy a quite a few traditional unmodified shapes as well and have a number of them in my herd. There is much to be appreciated in unique and well executed designs whether they be to form or not.

More bad assery to add! From Trevor Talbert is this Meerschaum gourd body, Masur Birch Cap and accent with Morta bowl. A lovely Cutty with Bakelite Stem from Bruce Weaver. Another lovely Cutty in Morta with a Maple Syrup colored stem with smoke swirl. A Dunhill Pot from 1948 DeadRoot Grade DRR C-EE. An early Cavalier from JT Cooke. A collaboration with metal frame by Weibe Pipe Co. with a Morgan Bones Stack Vergin bowl. Another collaboration, this time a Calabash with Morta Gourd body with Amber colored stem by Davorin Danovic & an Altinok exquisitely carved Meerschaum bowl. banjo

I failed to credit Chris Askwith for that lovely Morta Cutty! Plenty of them but two are probably my favorites. My Missouri Meerschaum Diplomat with Plum colored Forever Stem at 14 y/o, and the John Barrett built and customized by me, the Rocking Black Rock Cob with bamboo shank and trimmed 7mm/08 casie, 2nd one up from the bottom on the left and the one next to it going right. banjo

Malaga made in Detroit Great article written on Malaga pipes at RebornPipes.com.
I put a tobacco tin in the pic as its hard to appreciate the impressive size of the tobacco chamber without it. The chamber is conical in shape and measures 1.5" across at the rim.

This is one of my most cherished pipes. It’s a Todd Harris straight grain bent Rhodesian with a Cumberland stem and Sterling Silver Band. Made to my specifications and accepts a 9mm filter. AJ

Edit:I just went back and realized that some of my old Photobucket pics are toast.
Since there was a threadsurrection, I figured I would make a correction to an earlier post of mine. On my bearded Meerschaum posted earlier that I listed as a Turkish Man, I was corrected by a collector. It is a Zouave infantryman from around the 1850's...If you scroll down to "The Second Empire, the manner of head-dress matches. en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Zouave He said that everything about the pipe screams to him that it came from Ludwig Hartmann in Vienna, but without the case, he cannot say unequivocally. Now THAT's a meer!

This is a no name free hand I just finished restoring. I changed the stem out because the original was a black 6" long stem (very uncomfortable). It smokes very nicely.

Last but not least, a Savinelli select grain. I have to send it out for bit repair but did some of the cleaning on it.
