Upon the advice of many here and elsewhere I've spent hours moving my pipe pics from photobucket over to Imgur. Let's see how it goes... Stairway up to mancave ![]() Top of the stairs... Set up for a poker game a few months back... My modest tobacco cellar before going to the TAPS expo in Apr. (Top left shelf) After the TAPS expo My Craigslist $100 Pipe, Tobacco and TV wall unit Corner unit holds some of the 29 Jars of tobacco I picked up from a closed C.B. Perkins Tobacco Shop sale. Top shelf some of my favorite pipes. Second shelf, cigar stuff. Third Shelf, several of my 30+ mason jars of baccy. Fourth shelf, my son Nick's pipes Top shelf, my Esoterica stash... Margate, Woodbridge, Stonehaven & Penzance. Second shelf, 30 sumpin tins. Third shelf, many of my frequent smokes. Fourth shelf, a dozen C.B. Perkins jars. The whole enchilada. Some mood lighting. Most of the modest stable... I kinda got a thing for those Bent Bulldogs. Here's about 10 or so of the 15 I've acquired... Finally, my estate sale Mancave Art (except for the two watercolors.) Settin up some briars for an evening tobacco medley...

I could vacation in that cave! Thanks Z, It's a work in progress. I'm now on the prowl for... 1. A couple of leather chairs. I'd prefer wingback's but will settle for club chairs. I want to set em up with a really nice marble chess set I picked up in the Philippines back in the 80's. 2. Vintage tobacco advertising & artwork. 3. A wooden cigar store Indian. (I'd settle for one of the replica's that are made out of crushed walnut shells) gotta be cheap though.

Looking good. I'm sure you'll find Imgur a whole friendlier to use.

Looking good. I'm sure you'll find Imgur a whole friendlier to use. You'e right John. Much less delay (latency) with this site, not always gettin bombarded with pop up ads. Just got to figure how to put all of those photos, I uploaded, into albums?

Pretty nice digs for a caveman! Check out any consignment stores that you may have in your area. The wife and I picked up a custom made Drexel heritage sofa that appears to have come from a formal living room, it is in pristine condition...had to cost thousands, we paid $110.00 for it. I have seen the chairs you describe in the store, and they don't take anything that isn't in excellent condition.

Looks great man! I am jealous of the amount of room you have in that man cave. I wish I had room for a poker table in my smoke room. Looks like you are stocked up on tobacco for a day or two. Enjoy!

Thanks Dustin. I think you could probably do what I do with the poker table. Mine folds up and I tuck it outta the way in the south dormer window area of my room. Fold up the 8 chairs and stick them down there with it. Seen here on the right side down by the window.. ![]() When I have poker games I just move the table and chairs out of the dormer area and move my desk and chair down into it. Being as I only have a game here every month or so, it's not that big of an inconvenience.

Not an expensive whiskey, but good for the price. The scotch. Well, that's a different matter entirely. It's Glenrothes. One of my favorite single malts.

Hee hee You guys are killin me. I know I'm cheap, but sheesh. Don't get me wrong, I definitely have some inexpensive bourbon and scotch for those that don't drink much and might not appreciate my Glenrothes or Blantons. Not a snob, just, well, uhmmmm... Thrifty. Yeah, that's the ticket ... Thrifty. (the Blonde calls it cheap )

1792 and Buffalo Trace are my two favorite Bourbons. I am an Islay and Speyside fan as far as Scotch goes, but enjoy most single malts. How about Tequila? I mean, good tequila?

Don, Like most sailors, I've had my fair share of Jose', not to mention some of my worst hangovers from it as well. Can't tell ya how many Prairie Dog shots have crossed these lips. Nowadays, it seems that my tequila consumption is limited to a couple of margaritas with my senorita on our date nights. Most of the time they're Patron.

1792 is smooth and good for the money. It reminds me of butterscotch. I've never had Glenrothes; my favorite scotch is Dalmore (not the cigar malt, unfortunately). Most of the older posters seem to like Laphroaig, but I've never had it.
Never had a tequila I've liked as much as bourbon or scotch. Patron Silver to me has no flavor, though I like the bottle. I always think man, for $50 I could have had some Wild Turkey Rare Breed. All time favorite scotch is Wild Turkey Kentucky Spirit. I tried it because Malt Enthusiast or comeone rated it 98%, and I agree. Rare Breed came in at 95%, with which I also agree.
I don't like rum or gin at all, and vokda not much.
PS I think Jose is nasty.
PPS After two shots of 1792 and one of Glenrothes though, I'd probably be eatin' on them Dill Pickles...

My preferred approach is to drink it neat and sip it's heavenly goodness. Laphroig! Now that's a different story entirely. Absolutely the most peaty, licrocey scotch I've ever had. Definitely have to cut it with water. If you haven't had Glenrothes you don't know what yer missin.

Went to the liquor store also around 1982, and asked if there was a scotch guy. Scotch guy comes out and I tell him look, I know it's an acquired taste, and I will hate it my first time, but what scotch would you recommend for a rank beginner? He reaches down to the bottom shelf and produces a bottle of Scoresby. I got one of those small bottles and, when I got home, decided to try the nasty Scoresby before I ruined my palate on what I planned on drinking. It was love at first sip. Oh, peat and whisky, awesome. Still, if I could choose between scotch and bourbon, I'd pick bourbon. I think scotches are so different, with bourbon I'm more likely to get something I like. Wanted to try some fancy scotch once, so dropped $250 on a bottle of something that was laid down in 1976. It was a really refined flavor-I-didn't-like-in-the-first-place. Aw
