Glenrothes looks good.  This 43-year Glenrothes was given to Duncan Taylor to be part of their tantalus line. That wooden thing it comes in is apparently a tantalus, and it's made from the cask that aged the scotch. |

I like my Laphroig and Ardbeg neat. Unless it is cask strength, then a tiny bit of water. Never ice in any of mine unless I am having something like standard Wild Turkey. There are a lot of tequilas I enjoy sipping, just as much as whisky. Usually reposado or anejo. Don Julio, Casa Noble, Muchote, El Mayor. All very smooth and lots of flavor. I rarely drink rum, vodka or gin unless in a mixed drink. I barely drink anything more than coffee or water these days. Less and less each year.

My old best friend's dad is rich, and I have had $4,000 this and $6,000 that. It's just really refined. That's about it. Refiiiiiiiined yes, but that's it. Still the same flavor. I'd rather spend the money on travel.

Very cool! And you say that pipe cabinet / TV unit was $100? Bargain!  Love that pipe stand on the desk, btw. I've been looking out for something like that here, but no luck at all. |
