Awesome footage, it's surprising that more of his pipes didn't survive.

The pipe says "Co*treau" but I have no idea about the brand until I dig around a bit more. It's unfortunate that he didn't care about material possessions and gave all his pipes away or just threw them away.

Hell, he even threw away his original copy of the "Theory of Relativity" after it was published. Imagine what it would be worth today.

Most likely made by one of the major pipemakers as a novelty advertising pipe. I can't find anything more.

Will have to add that to my list of coupon pipes I am looking for but will probably never find.

Going to assume it's Cointreau Tobacco and like you said, most likely a coupon pipe.

Going to assume it's Cointreau Tobacco and like you said, most likely a coupon pipe. From my research, found this post regarding the pipe....... "The pipe says “Cointreau Liquer” in an embossed frame on the side. According to the kind folks at the National Museum of American Jewish History who looked when I email them a year ago when I was researching the pipe. Ive done some looking and I can't find any manufacturing info on it. I'd love to have a similar one but I think maybe it was simply a promo item."

Did he really say once this once?
I believe that pipe smoking contributes to a somewhat calm and objective judgment in all human affairs.

Watched the Second half of Genuis, Story of his life, if it was true to the facts, Hoover was on his arse like flypaper, his Russian shack up may have given the Russians more info than the Rosenbergs, Life is strange isn't it.

Thanks for the information on Cointreau, guys.....
I never heard about that Brad, sadly I don't find it shocking, there are a lot of historical facts that come to light decades later, and even then quite often, the fantasy is rooted so deep that the facts are never known on a wide scale.

I read 3 books recently about him. One said that he liked the blackest and nastiest cigars he could find.
