I smoked Smoker's Pride black cavendish for years, because it was available locally, affordable and smokable. I'd smoke their Toasted cavendish if on hand. I guess they don't make it any more.
With the advent of internet shopping many more brands and blends became available. After trying many blends I got hooked on C&D Crooner, and for a couple years was my "GoTo" tobacco. Quickly Sutliff Mixture #79 is taking it's place.
I prefer buying my tobacco in bulk if offered in bulk. I've been known to but tinned tobacco for it "Tin Art", or just to see what the fuss is about. That is why I bought a tin of G.L.Pease Stonehenge. I also bought some GH&Co, Louisiana Perique Flake bulk because I heard it was similar. It turned out that I like the Louisiana flake better. You don't know if you don't try it. It doesn't hurt that the bulk GH&Co. is cheaper too.
I have little loyalty to a certain blend. I smoke what my taste likes best at the time. Price is a factor too.

My 'loyalty' is tempered by my budget.

Loyal? No. But I do have favorite blenders - SG, Germain, McClelland, Boswell's for aros, and Mac Baren for a few odds and ends. Sutliff continues to surprise me with the quality of their aros - far better to my tastes than the other big bulk sellers, so I'd be more likely to try something new from them than from Lane or Stokkebye.

Jim, I smoke what I like regardless of the brand.

I have some favorite blends that get smoked regularly. Orlik Golden Sliced, Penzance, P&W #10, Dark Star, Escudo, 3 Oaks, Hal O The Wynd, Old Gowrie, Father Dempsey, Casey Jones Last Ride and Heine's Blend. As you can see, they come from a variety of blenders.

I've been loyal to cigarette brands.
Coming up on my first year as a pipe smoker, its tough to really see loyalty while trying out so many blends. So far Frog Morton and some Dunhill blends have been the tobaccos that I constantly return to and replace whence smoked and I have begun cellaring them. Once they are extinct, I'll be a Ronin, looking for a new master. haha Others would be EGR, CH, Black House, White Knight, and Esoterica- Dunbar. I'll probably have a better answer for this in another year or two.

Ok, my second post of what I don't like. Other than the frogs McClelland there is something they use that I don't like. The Virginia tobaccos just plain gross me out. Lots of folks love their blends so it might be a chemistry thing.

I don't think I am loyal to any company in particular. But my favorite tobaccos, by far, are from Samuel Gawith and Gawith & Hoggarth. Generally avoid most MacBaren's because of the bites I have received from their blends. I like to mix it up; there is much joy in trying a different tobacco each week (or day) and the variety of blends out there is incredible.

Not really loyal to anyone but I am a bit of a GL Pease fanboy. I am past the stage of trying everything I can get my hands on and honing in on preferred Genres more so. Va Bur Per with or without DK is my playground.

Is Ready Rubbed Match a match for Dunhill Ready Rubbed? It's a match for Edgeworth Ready Rubbed. Thanks, Jim. Bummer though.
