I went fishing today and along with the usual hooks through the fingers and some worm slime mixed with dirt stuck under the finger nails, I also managed to have 2 bowls of St James Flake and since this was my first time smoking this..here are my thoughts.
COOL......very cool smoke...and a deep richness one would expect from a blend this dark and sweet smelling. When I opened the bag and had myself a long deep whiff the raisin like smell tickled each nose hair and stayed around inside my head until I packed and started smoking the pipe. Packing was easy, this flake broke apart with ease and once lit there was plenty of smoke around me and the flavor was sweet..smokey and cool with a nice spiciness that grew the more I smoked it. There was never any bite and I had maybe two relights and I attribute that to reeling in and unhooking fish. This is something I could smoke all day but most likely save for when fishing or reading a book.

St, James Flake is one of my favorites. I am out now, but it will be on my next PAD order.
Good review Mike.

Never tried it. What kind of fish did you catch?

Great stuff. Many herald it as the best in class for a VaPer tobacco blend.

St. James is probably the best VaPer on the planet (as Zach said). It is good even without age. I have some that is 3 years old that I cannot wait to try. I have some tins from 2015 to get through first however. I just finished smoking some about 2 hours ago. I am glad you like this wonderful blend too! Enjoy, brother.

I have some aging, one more month will be 1 year. I had a one bowl when fresh, and was good. Will see how it is next month with a year age on it. Bought 2-250 g boxes (I think it was on sale or had a discount don't recall now and doesn't matter) and jarred it when received after reading that's how it should be done. I read it on the internet so must be true!

I cellared several pounds of it, all of which are aging. Great tobacco!

I also bought a couple 250 gram boxes when it was on sale for $25 a piece a year ago.
