Caleb Bradham....Never heard of him you say!! He developed the formula for Pepsi and started the Pepsi Cola Company in 1898 here in my home state Probably the most popular thing ever to come out of North Carolina. My darling wife drinks one every day.

There is also this...you have Timbo there (Tim Ferris)!
A lot of useful trivia in North Carolina.

Team Pepsi. I'm the guy that orders a Coke in a restaurant out of habit, but is happy when they say, "We don't have Coke. Is Pepsi OK?" Your wife has good taste.

Royal Crown Cola, if Dr Pepper isn't available. DP is from Texas, but I don't know the origin of RC

I grew up in a house where we only drank Pepsi. That was my Mom's drink of choice and she did the grocery shopping. I prefer Coke, especially Cherry Coke (because they discontinued Coke Blak -- but I've discovered how to make my own!) My grandfather drank RC, it is popular here in WV. I have a funny story about my Mom and Pepsi. She says I made this up and I absolutely did not, it actually happened. While living at home I needed to ask my Mom a question so I went to her bedroom where she was lounging on the bed reading a book. It is well known that if my Mom is reading a train could crash through the house and she would never hear it. So I'm standing in her door way and say "Mom." No response. I say it a little louder. No response. I then call her by her name. Nothing. So then I say, "Mom, we're out of Pepsi." and she drops her book, looks at me and says, "What?!" Yup, she's addicted and attuned.

Dean Smith may be a Demi-god in North Carolina, but you can go all the way to outer Carjakistan and the people will still know what Pepsi is, Dean Smith....not so much.

61 years old and never knew that Pepsi came out of NC. Not surprised though as sweet as they make tea here, now Pepsi makes sense as to why it is is too sweet for me.
