I wish I had a dollar for every opened, empty tin in an antique store that was priced as a highly collectible piece....If I remember correctly, one place had a tin for $30.00...reckon they still have it.

I have one of those tins. My folks brought it back from Disney World for me in about 1975. The tobacco is still wrapped in the paper with a coupon for a pipe nd rolling papers.  |

Prince Albert and Velvet is only worth about that much for the entire sleeve of full pocket tins, lol.
I smoke all mine and put the wax insert pipe offers back in the tins.

You never know Charlie.....there's a sucker born every minute!  I was up in Prescott Arizona, after visiting several shops where everything pipe smoking related was overpriced, I found a store that had reasonable prices, and commented to the proprieter as I made my purcases. Paraphrased: "I have been here longer than any of them, I am in the business of selling stuff not warehousing it" A good philosophy to have...at an antiques chop down the street where individuals ent spaces, one guy has had some badly abused Dunhills that would take extroardinary efforts to get them to look halfway decent, stems need replaced, bowls topped, thinks they are worth $120.00 apiece...they have been there for years. |
