I think Jefferson Davis smoked a claw meer. I have my eye on an unsmoked one at a local shop. Very cool meers, John. If it is ok to ask, how did you do on price?

The claw was 75.00 the little one was 62.00 and the lady was also 62.00.also the lady and the little one i think is early 20th century, the claw I'm not sure maybe early to middle 20th century

Heck now I have 11 Meers, so I think I have to reduce the number of Cobs or Briars.

That is a really nice score, John! The detail on the claw, and the coloring is pretty darn nice. The lady pipe is pretty cool, gotta get me one of them.. .I always wonderd if them pipes were made for women in that era? regardless, I wouldn't have a problem smoking her.
And the last one with the chickens pecking off the platter, it is probably a one of a kind...cool. The nice thing is that they all look like they had responsible owners, no chipped off pieces and what looks like original stems. Smoke them over carpeted floors. I would love to see them at the next pipe club meeting if you care to bring them. Antiques store find?

Why get rid of pipes unless you are totally out of space where you live?
Nice find on these meers. Like em all but the claw is very eye catching.

Those Meers are really nice, my last one I couldn't pass up, a Giant Frog, he would have tasted good in a Fricasse, haha.

I have several Briars I don't smoke and don't think I will. Off the top of my head, there is about 3 dukes, one WDC, 2 Medico ventilators and several others. There must be about a dozen pipes. I have been leaning toward the briar nosewarmers, various Cobs and now these Meers

Well if you decide to get rid of them, I'd be interested in seeing them and knowing what you want for them.
