So many famous pipe smokers in the world. Who are your favorites? My first is Lionel Barrymore, who was on TCM tonight in Captains Courageous!

William Conrad. This pipe is similar to mine. Edward G. Robinson, of course. I wrote the dialogue for this poster. And we can't leave out Der Bingle! Attachments:

Rep. Millicent Fenwick R-NJ. She smoked her pipe while sitting in Congress and everywhere else. A classy lady.

The late Glenn Ford, who was a major pipe smoker and collector. One of his several outsized and capacious pipe racks went on estate sale recently. A fine actor. You could say I grew up watching many of his movies in the 50s and 60s.

Goose, SRV is my all time favorite guitar/blues artist. Never have seen a picture of him with a pipe. Love it! Is it just me or does that briar look like a Bent Bulldog?

Agreed, Mike! It wasn't until I saw Jeremy Brett as Holmes that I felt the stories truly come alive. Brett was a character actor and he researched every Doyle story to come up with a notebook on Holmes that gave him info in portraying him. He BECAME Holmes vs. simply portraying him. He is now the standard against which all others are compared, lol.

Reminds me. I forgot to add Basil Rathbone and Bing to my list.
