I thought I'd post here some of my own blends. I've been getting blending tobaccos and weighing everything out. here goes!
Cloister the Stupid (Red Dwarf reference)
2oz Yellow Virginia
1.2oz Eastern Carolina Ribbon
1.5oz Long Cut Virginia

1.8oz Smoker's Pride Black Cavendish
Internal Hemorrhage
0.5oz Dark Burley

hard pressed for 7 days and cut into blocks that fit into a jar. the cake was about as dense as 3P's when I cut it, but have expanded in the jar.

Retribution has been in the press since 11-9-16. today I opened it up and pressed the Mental's Note on top of it. I have 3 clamps as tight as I can get them on the press. the Retribution is already a tight and dense block. I'm hoping they will separate easy enough in 3-4 weeks. the Bulldog's Bollocks needed a little more Yellow VA and the addition of the Blended Turkish Ribbon.

I didn't realize you had so many because I never ended up seeing this thread over at PSF. Awesome stuff. Do you just buy blending tobaccos fromSP or P&C largely or have you tried buying whole leaf tobacco as well and going that route? One of my next orders I'm going to get a pound of each leaf whole leaf and do similar but probably largely stick to making Va/Bur and different Virginia and dark leaf blends.

I was growing my own this year for ropes & plugs, but the hail decimated most of my plants. I might have to break down and buy some whole leaf. |

$14.99 a pound for bright leaf VA, Red, Dark Air Cured, Turkish Prilep, first bright primings when they're in stock, etc. MUCH cheaper than buying blending tobaccos and straight from the big growers. Most of their Virginias are at least 2 years aged already as whole leaf. They also sell Latakia from around 1997 for a few bucks more a pound. They have really ripe, slightly overripe VA Red tips for only $12.99 a pound.

i still have some of that aging in a jar
going on just over 3 years now
should be getting good now
(or at least better than what it started)
several other blends too bumping up to the 2year mark
