Question: Do you remove the band? The AJ Fernandez Spectre has a super wide band. I remove the band from every cigar I smoke. The gentleman that started me on my cigar journey, some 35 years ago, felt that it was the gentlemanly thing to do. The General was a big man with a big personality that despised show-offs. It was his opinion, along the lines of George Washington's writings on the subject, that a gentleman should make an effort to make everyone feel comfortable in a social or formal gathering, regardless of their station in life. Jim felt that by removing the band from an expensive cigar it lessened the opportunity for someone to feel as if you're puttin on the airs, and also kept those, that are easily impressed with status and possessions, to keep from droning on and on about your expensive smoke. So, to this day, I always remove the bands from my cigars, regardless of their pedigree or price. Just my $0.02 Dino

Just my $0.02 Dino I remember watching a Sherlock Holmes episode and he referred to the bad guy as a "bander" because he never removed the bands from his cigar.

I took bands off a couple of cigars until I ripped some wrappers. Now I always keep them on. They're are some bands that are alwys stuck to the wrappers and you're just better off not messing with them until you have to.

Ok, next question. How far down do you smoke? To the wrapper?

I mean I smoke it until I burn my fingers with the little nub that's left. Some cigars just shouldn't be put out before it's time. Lol

Some people will jam the nub into a pipe, but I've never tried it. I'm usually tired of a cigar by the 3/4 mark, especially if it's a big one.
