Headed to a local park to enjoy this cigar. I’ve smoked a few of these prior. A solid handmade that smokes extremely smooth. Sometimes don’t burn even is my only complaint. This particular one is covered with “ plume “ 👌👍👍👍👍 Loyal Torano Hecho a mano Ted, double check that. If it wipes off easy, it’s not plume. Be careful. Looks like mold to me. These sticks were released in 2011 for the first time so even if they are OR, im not sure they would’ve developed plume yet. Just mentioning as I consider you a friend and wouldn’t want anything to harm you

Just mentioning as I consider you a friend and wouldn’t want anything to harm you. Oh, I double check. This cigar smoked sweet plus no odd odor of mold. With a magnifying glass you can see sugar crystals. This cigar was in a draw next to a couple of my good Padron’s that have plenty of “ plume “.. Appreciate your concern, thank you👍👍👍

If it is white it is alright other colors not so good for a fellow. Not written in stone but a decent guideline.

I couldn’t see the colors well and I know you know your sticks but it was a knee jerk reaction of concern Gonna tuck into a 2015 Monte # 4 tonight imgur.com/a/BdhhHx9

Hoyo de Monterey Excaliber I really wanted to like this cigar but from the start it was doomed. When I cut the v in the cap there was a stem after that I chased the canoe for 4inchs then fed the last bit to the fishes. Maybe just a bad one flavor was good mostly of cashew nuts. Taste 7/10 construction of my stick 3/10

Got a small Acid Blondie laid out for after dinner. These little stinky treasures still intrigue me after all these years.

I have been smoking at one a day for the last few weeks..most have been inexpensive cigars such as Casa de Garcia, Quarums and Cuban Rounds. I have to say the top shelf ones I have had are out of this would.. Casa Fernandez cigars are OUTSTANDING!! the best one I have had is A Guardian of the Farm Churchill... what a cigar!! There have been a few Man O War tossed in with some 5 Vegas..all in all a very nice last few weeks!

I decided to sit on the back deck and smoke a good cigar.....so I thought......
I’m smoking a Montecristo No. 2 Torpedo 6 × 50. Extremely difficult draw for a “ good “ cigar. Won’t stay lit. So, being a cigar smoker for years I had to go through a few containers to locate my drawpoker cigar tool. This cigar was wrapped overly tight, had to go directly thru the cigar to get the darn thing lit and smokable. Odd that this occurred on a so called “ fine “ cigar. Now smoking fine, just a bit disappointed!!!
PS Any other cigar smoker have an issue recently with a Monticristo??

Montecristo just is not what it used to be. They are not consistent anymore and Ted you and I are not the first to notice. The Cubans are still perfect but still hard to get and a little spendy for my tastes.

Also if I smoke a Macanudo I get a headache.....go figured.

A lot of brands live on in legends from the 90s and simply don't deserve their price points at this stage of the game. That and there are many new players in the cigar market and Nicaragua is not a total war zone these days. There are some great sticks out there right now with availability of good Cuban seed tobacco from Nicaragua. Time to explore a little without breaking the bank on some newcomers via five packs. Also with Thompson out of the game maybe the rollers will step up their game not being able to pass crappola cigars to the public. Heck what do I know but it is fun to explore a little.

My go to cigar in the late 60’s through the 70’s was the Te-Amo ......any and all....no complaints. After getting caught spraying their crops with paraquat And the many headaches no more Te-Amos for me, sad days they were!!!

My usual Camacho Corojo Toro. Pardon 3000 tonight at the B&M. Your smoking a great cigar👍 My two anytime favorites are the Padron 3000 & 4000, because of the tax structure they are reasonably priced here in NC. In NY the average price per stick is roughly $5.00 higher. Enjoy your night at your B&M.
