Got lucky on the bay and just received a very lightly smoked, maybe 2 or 3 partial bowls (raw wood top 1/4 of inside bowl) a Savinelli Giubileo d'Oro 4 digit shape code 2004 no filter...for a very good price IMO. Research is sketchy but it appears they stopped using 4 digits anywhere between about 1963 and not later than 1977 (1978 is when all but a few lines went to their balsa filter system and changed to 3 digits for everything)

You should email a picture of it to Laudisi customer service. I think they are still the main rep for Savinelli in the U.S. I found a La Savinelli Giubileo d'Oro 510 KS a few years ago at a street fair and the guy was asking $3. for it. (That's not a typo, I paid $3.00 for it.) Didn't really know what I had until it was cleaned and polished so I email Savinelli in Italy and they put me in contact with Laudisi. I was told it was from the early to mid 1970s. It was their top of the line pipes at the time and was of an "equivalent" quality and price to a Dunhill. Would have sold new for $400 - $600. I have seen others that were stamped Savinelli but so far mine is the only La Savinelli and the only bulldog shaped one I've seen. I was told they stopped stamping them La Savinelli in the late 70s to early 80s but started using it again in the 90s. I was also told that only 1 in 1,000 pipes earn the designation Giubileo d'Oro Here's mine...

pappyjoe very Nice Pipe! I have a deLuxe Milano but in in a 504. If you zoom in you can see my d'Oro is also stamped "la Savinelli" Thanks to johnlawitzke I just happen to have the right contact information of the Savinelli/Laudisi rep here in the USA. That's how I managed to snag the first ever produced PO Smooth Natural 321. Was introduced at the Chicago show and the rest is history (and some $$$) but worth it to me.
