Sufficiently awake for now. Was looking at this area of the forum and the old yellow rubber pouches came to mind. When dad wasn't simply using the foil pouch his SWR came in he had one of the rubber ones. I found one place that had them, but really? 7$ for fifteen cents of rubber and stitch? I'd like to buy a dozen of those but at that price the plaids with lining are available. Not above a leather pouch. Actually below it. Just sort of a Drugstore Cowboy. Anyone finding a reasonable source, please let me know.

I know that seems high to you, but what can you buy for $7 these days? If it makes him happy just do it. Why waste hours of your life trying to save 3 bucks?

I actually answered this in another thread. I had hoped to buy several. After thinking about it one or two would do. However, most had a zipper in them, which, to me, always break. I found this at Little Brown Cigar for 5.50. It is exactly like dad had. What makes this more desirable than the Decatur that I bought isi its ability to roll up nicely with any amount of tobacco and the flap stays tight on it. The tobacco has remained fresh for well over a week, as it is about as close to airtight as you will get.

I've been walking around carrying tobacco in a sandwich bag but maybe I need something more classy. Does the rubber kill the aroma of the tobacco?

Very True, Craig. New, out of bag, there is a smell to the rubber, but it smells like Velvet Tobacco. Inside you can smell the tobacco and it does nothing to alter flavor.
