Has anyone ever tried these? I never have, but they make them sound pretty good! I would be curious to know if they're really worth the $$$.

Had a few years ago. Were not bad but never had the urge to buy anymore.

They're decent cigars, but I had a few that were not very good. As to being close alternatives, most are not. I tried maybe fifteen different ones in the line some years ago, and I can say you'd never mistake the copy for the original in any instance.

You are better off buying the JR cigars...not the ALTS..the casa blanca cigars are pretty nice and wallet friendly!

I've smoked them. Not what I'd call Cuban alternatives by a long shot. No different than other bundle cigars in my opinion.

had them maybe 20 years ago. Did not taste like a cuban cigar. Buy some cheap machine made cubans instead.

I tried a few like 15 years ago. Not awful, but not great. Damning with faint praise I guess.

I like the JR Ultimate alternative.
I think overall it is a pretty tasty cigar at a very reasonable price. I didn't like to give them away, though because in a bundle it seemed as if there was always one or two clinkers. I would hate to give one of those to someone and have them think I was smoking rags. Ha!

I'm with others here. I've been smoking their "clones" for years. Mostly grab a bundle of their Arturo Fuente wannabe's and take em on the golf course with me.
I don't find em on the same level as some of the pipe tobacco "matches", but they're fine for what I buy em for.
