I have so many open I don't have the energy to count. I like variety so I get bored after have a tin or pouch so I jar them once I stop reaching for them. I should say I smoke a lot more pipes in the colder months.

Complicated question as I have so many jarred tobaccos sitting around on hand, many bulk, I wouldn't know where to begin. I just popped two tins of Wessex Burley Slice, put them in a food processor and mixed them with one tin of Butera Cavandish in one jar today. I voted ten or more.

I don't know the answer because I'm too lazy to count, but it's too many. Probably 40-50.

Between tins, jars, pouches, and tubs I guess around 25. Now that I see that in writing, I think I understand why my wife rolls her eyes at me.

Uh.... just jarred some tins last week but still have about 10-15 open tins and maybe 50-60 go-to jars of accessible blends and a bunch of long term sealed aging masons.

When I open a tin it goes straight into a jar because it takes me a lonnng time to finish a tin. I'm firmly in the 10 or more category.

Only three tins, but that doesn't include my three ever open quart size mixing jars from which I create or spruce my blends.

This many: What kind of jars are you using? Prescription bottles and spice jars?

I've had way too many open at once, but finally made it down to 30. I have got my tastes figured out(for the most part) & hope to get it down to 20-25 eventually.

I have 18 open, and my goal is to keep to at 20 or less. Enough for variety, not so many I get overwhelmed.

This many: What kind of jars are you using? Prescription bottles and spice jars? The big ones are 4 oz. plastic Nalgene bottles that had never had anything in them. The little ones with silver lids are containers I got from Amazon that only hold two bowls of tobacco (not recommended). The little brown ones are 1 oz plastic Nalgene bottles; I don't recommend them either (too small of an opening).

If their jarred, I don't consider them open. Tins, baggies & pouches are and I have about a dozen going and I keep many of my rotation tobaccos in reused OTC/Sta-Fresh tubs (they'll hold up to a pound) and I have 20 tubs at hand now.

I don't consider what is jarred to be open either. I seldom open a jar unless I intend to smoke the contents on a regular basis, and at that point, I'll empty the contents into a baggie for convenience.

I have a ton in Mason jars. Does that count as open? If I open up a jar, take some out and close it back up and don't open it for 2 years, is it open? One year? If I jar it when I get it and haven't reopened it is it open?

If I jar it when I get it and haven't reopened it is it open? Kind of the way it is for me. typically, I have all my bulks in mason jars lined up by blend...If I have a hankering for one, the front jar gests pilfered from, and sealed back up.

The way I look at is that if you opened the original package, and put it in a jar, and take tobacco from it, it's open. If you jarred it, and are letting it age for some period of time before opening it again, then that would considered not to be open.
