I had a few first pipes because at the time I had bought a whole collection from an estate sale including the racks. Most sadly were sold off in my stupidity years ago and a few that I've found to be irreplaceable. But, one survived, an Alpha Lozano Heather Briar that I still have.

My first was from a set of pipes my Uncle's neighbor gave me. Every once in awhile, Mr. Cole would waddle across the street with a present in his shirt pocket. It was always a pipe from his collection. I accumulated about 7 or 8 pipes from him before my Uncle moved.
It was a rusticated Grabow that I still have today.

Dr Grabow Savoy Rough in high school. Bjarne Viking was my first pipe on recently taking it up.

Mine was one of those nylon-shanked cheapies that I bought in a drugstore for about $3 when I was about 12 or 13. Burned the hell out my mouth with some cherry aromatic. Not blaming cherry aromatics; I just didn't know how to smoke a pipe. I no longer have it.

My first pipe was this Kaywoodie 05, purchased in 1986. Still smokes just as hot and wet as it did in '86 but I still love it.

I had a picture of it before PhotoSuckIt shoved the big weannie to us. I unfortunately remember tossing it in a move thinking I wouldn't ever be smoking again in my life, just adds to the many regrets that I have in life.

A cheap basket pipe. I tried to modify the stem at one point and it wound up ruined. Next came the Stanwell 19 that's hanging from my jaws as I type this. That would've been 2012, I guess.

A Peterson billiard. Great smoker, around 150 bucks. I wanted to commit to this pipe smoking pastime right from the start. Still have it, but never smoke it...now that I have my Basil Meadows Dublin.

My first pipe was a Swiss BBK given to me by my ex-FIL. The first one I bought was A Rossi. Both were 3/4 bent and rusticated. The Rossi was a cherry color and the Swiss was black. Both were lifted from about 7 years ago.I have picked up another Swiss BBK but haven't found a replacement for the Rossi. Looking for the same shape and color makes it just a bit of a challenge.

First pipe I bought was a bent MM hardwood with some PA Soft Vanilla. First Briar pipe I bought a week or so later was a Leonessa Briosa slight bent and rusticated apple. My first Briar pipe was $35 and I still have both today. It's a really great smoker.
