The missus and I will be arriving early evening tomorrow so long as the plans work out the way they are laid. I'm looking forward to meeting the mugs I haven't and some of the folks I look up to as a newish pipe smoker.

I've met John, Zach, Haebar, Scottie and Basil. I evidently saw Serenity but didn't realize it was he across the crowded ballroom, lol. AND I already bought a cob, lol! I couldn't help it, the new MM manager was here  |

Well I just got home from the pipe show and was glad that I had a chance to meet John, Zach, and Lady Margaret. I sold a few pipes and had a great time. Wish I hadn't taken all of the OTC tobacco pouches (Captain Black, SWR, etc.); nobody was interested in them. Can't say that I blame them with all the great tins for sale there. I bought a couple of cigar grab bags from Judd Perlson and 7.5 packs of the Daughters & Ryan little cigars which were on sale for $1 a pack! I bought 10 raffle tickets and won two tins, McClelland Old Dog and Hearth & Home El Nino; these more than paid for the price of the tickets. Didn't buy any pipes - if you saw my table you'd know I don't need any new pipes!

It was great meeting all of you, as well as hanging out with Jeremy Reeves all evening, meeting Mark Ryan and the new guy taking over Missouri Meerschaum. I had a great time and wish I coulda stayed for Saturday as well.

The one thing that I noticed missing at the Columbus Show is that there were hardly any vintage tins being passed around on the patio. Normally at shows, you get offered more bowl fills from vintage tins in the smoking area than you can possibly try.

What happens in Columbus stays in Columbus.  Soon I'll post a few random shots that I took around the show. Nothing fancy, just random shots. I've just been too busy to get to it. After I got home Sunday, I had to recover from a grand total of 9 hours of sleep over two nights in Columbus. Then I had to prep to run a slow smoke contest at the Furniture City Pipe Society meeting tonight. I need to post my show haul in the What's in the Mail thread, too. |

The Chicago, Columbus, and New York shows are closest to you. Next closest is probably the TAPS show in Raleigh, NC. The West Coast show is held in Vegas if you can find a cheap flight. |
