My neighbor brought over some of those special glasses. We stood on my porch and watched the eclipse. It was really neat. When you look through those glasses everything is really black. The only thing you can see is the sun.I'm told that they're similar to the way welding goggles work.It was a really cool experience.Something that I probably will never see again..Now..I think someone should make a really dark Latakia blend and call it Eclipse.

Why not?
A lot of people have been pretty creative cashing in on the eclipse...but I think that one needs to strike while the iron is hot...or is it before the moon begins to wane?

We were supposed to be at 75% coverage. It never got too dark. A bit of cloud cover but my neighbors had the right glasses so I gt a peak. Otherwise, not a big deal but 2021 is "only" 7 years away. If I'm lucky enough to be here I'll report on it.

By the way...2021 is only 4 years away, the next eclipse is 2024...but they say the first thing to go, is the memory. Just razzin you John!

We were supposed to be between about 80-88% here right at 2:25pm yesterday so me and the wife stood outside, it got an odd twilight effect of shading where it basically looked like some cloud coverage should have been blocking the sun a bit but no clouds. It got a little bit cooler, but overall we never bought glasses and didn't have A welding mask here so we didn't look at it. Took a few pictures that just looked like I took a picture of the plain sun. Lol we should be a bit more prepared to see the totality in 6 years I hope.

2024 should be interesting. The totality will be almost double the time as yesterday's. It will go from Texas to Maine so book your hotel rooms early...

Totality on the 2024 eclipse will go right through Buffalo. Guess we will be scheduling a trip home that week. This is one of the many shots I got from my backyard.
