I have purchased Deer Tongue twice. First from a Native American Group, which was leaves and some stems. Works well upon chopping it up. Problem is that I have not seen them have it available lately.
Amazon has the leaves and root powder. It's the leaves we are looking for. No clue what the root powder would do. Bought neither.
Penn Herb has leaf powder and whole. Which to buy? Principle of osmosis applies. Powder should osmosisize (don't ask, I'm on a roll) its way into the tobacco or cling to it where you can shake it up and move it around. I chose the powder. The joy in this is that I can add it to any tobacco that I am not as fond of and give it a little something extra. Worked great. I doubt it well help the notorious Bob's Chocolate Vietnamese Baboon Poo, though.
For those stopping short of aching for Vietnamese Baboon Poo you may want to go to Great Britain where one cafe sells coffee from beans "expelled" from birds, hopefully cleaned up first.
For the truly picky ones. Baboons are not endemic to Vietnam, but Pigtail Macaques are. Just didn't sound so poetic. My apologies to Nat Geo, Britannica, and all the hate mail I got from Baboons.com/forums (please don't click this)
