My wife and I are the guardians of a handicapped boy.His name is Jamie he can't walk.We use a wheel chair to get him in and out..We have a ramp off the front porch but not the back. The back steps were built out of cheap wood 12 years ago and the weather hasn't been kind to them.My wife has a good friend named Beverly. She has become good buddies with Jamie. When she saw the steps she said. You can't get Jamie down those rickety old steps. They need to come down and a ramp put there.I told her that would cost $3,000.She said you're going to get a ramp and it won't cost you a dime.I said yeah and Rain Deer can fly.She said trust and believe and you'll get it.Trusting her intent was easy but believing that she could make it happen was pretty hard. But she did make it happen..Saturday morning 7 men showed up at my house with $1'500 worth of wood and hardware and built a beautiful ramp. When I tried to thank them they just shrugged it off and said that's what we do.Their church collects money to buy the materials. These guys volunteer their Saturdays to build ramps for old and handicapped folks who are having problems with steps. When I tried to thank Beverly she said it's not for you. It's for Jamie...Just a little story about ordinary folks giving their time and money to do good for others.

God's blessings to all involved. We have steps out the back and front, which keep me inside most of the time. Yet I have no complaints. I am being taken care of, though I tease about her hitting me. Blessings and Strength to help you with your purpose. David

That is awesome! It couldn't have happened to a more deserving family.
Truth be known, the churches of America have a long history of benevolence and caring for their fellow man, and the humble nature as expressed by these men are the norm, not the exception.

I am so glad this happened for Jamie. I would be homebound without ramps.

Thanks for sharing, Larry.
Amazing how 1 positive story can outweigh 10 negative stories. There is still good in the world, I think the problem is people spend too much time talking about the bad.

What a great story of an act of kindness by real people of faith, whatever their religion and denomination. Not just the ramp builders but the couple who took charge of a boy in need of care. God Bless!

Thanks for sharing, Larry. Amazing how 1 positive story can outweigh 10 negative stories. There is still good in the world, I think the problem is people spend too much time talking about the bad. Aint that the truth...there are a lot of individuals, groups, and organizations responding to the mess in Texas..my cousin hooked up is tandem axle smoker and headed to Houston...and a rental company donated a reefer bobtail, and a major meat company in Liberal KS. loaded the truck up with meat, and a produce company and grocer did the same..... and told him to get his arse on the road. St. Mary's foodbank sent an 18 wheeler from Phoenix with three drivers so they don't have to stop... And I gaurantee you that it is being replicated throughout the states....if you listen to certain boneheads on tv though, they are going to concentrate on any negativity they can find.
