Charlie, any update on your summer haul? Curious to find out if thise Brakners are getting smoked. Any favorites out of the bunch you acquired in August? The Brakner's are really excellent smokers, a click above the Navigator, the Saseini Four Dot ruff root Huringham is also a very good smoker. The Saseini has a sooty rim that I still need to work on a bit, but the rest of the rims are very clean. I was fortunate that the previous owner was pretty fastidious in caring for my pipes, and/or the guy that sold them to me (non smoker) did a really good job cleaning them up.....I think it is more the former than the latter. This is post waxing them by hand, no polishing wheel. L to R: Saseini, Kriswell Navigator, Brakner, Brakner, No Name Made In England Dublin has a pretty decent blast on it, and is also a good smoker. These are the best of the herd. The others are certainly decent enough smokers that I do take to work, but the ones pictured above are saved for smokes at home and when out and about...pipe club meetings, etc... That is what I was hoping to hear. I love how my Brakners smoke. That Sasieni is gorgeous, by the way. Very nice blast on it from what I can see.

Fantastic score. I am jealous. Really like the updated photo. The No Name made in England to me looks wise is the pick of the litter

Fantastic score. I am jealous. Really like the updated photo. The No Name made in England to me looks wise is the pick of the litter It has a white dot on the stem, and a knowledgeble Danish salesman at the West Coast Pipe show said it looked like a Dunhill, even though he couldn't see the dot from where he was standing. It has no markings other than London England...maybe a seconds? I have no idea.

Having that box and sock on hand for the Sasieni, was real pipe serendipity. I had a similar experience when a bid lot contained (unbeknownst to me) a hard to find stem for an orphan bowl I had.
