Yesterday the cone of Irma was headed directly to Tallahassee, so Miss Daisy and I decided to evacuate. We went to friends that live another 50 miles west of Tallahassee. They live on a farm, have a tractor, generator and chain saw; much better equipped than we are. Luckily the eye of the storm missed us and Irma was downgraded to a Topical Storm before reaching the Forida Panhandle. As of this moment, our home still has power but the storm continues until later in the day. If we still have power, we will return home tomorrow. Pipe smoking has been limited by the weather, but I've been vaping tobacco favors (nutty) and I brought Community coffee with me. Looking forward to being home with my pipes and backy. We are so thankful it wasn't as bad as predicted here, and our thoughts and prayers remains with the millions in Florida, Georgia and northward who are without power and have damaged homes. Glad you missed the brunt of the storm and are safe. Hope all is well when you get home. Astleys 44 in a savinelli tundra bent brandy. Ice tea.

Heine's Blend in a Yello-Bole Air Control Panel Billiard, made of Brylon. As this pipe smokes neutral, I am really picking up on the fact that it is the base tobacco that Mixture #79 is built on, as JimInks has posted several times. - Keep the embers burning.

I spent my day trying various blends in various pipes.
I mentioned enjoying Whitehall Black Tie. Most reputable places don't even carry it. Rather than buy from five different dealers a month I thought I might try some Black Cavendish offerings. No luck. Even though I could buy C&D, PS, Sutliff I found none that really had any flavor compared to this prehistoric beast of White Tie.
Then there was the Nougat Experiment. I have mentioned that I liked Brigadier Black Alamo. Price jumped three bucks a can and you just don't do that to me. I can find bigger named Nougat blends cheaper. So, when my order came I laid out several to try. PS, Sutliff, and more. Once again, a tobacco, not even Drugstore Status, could compare to the joy or my Remembering the Alamo (sorry). So, I am sure, as soon as I pay the pusher his vigorish the price will drop again.
Reminded me of paying more for Lane Hazelnut and it being nowhere near as good as Low Country.
The only thing good today was Prince Albert is still in the can. I didn't have to chase him

About 1/2way through a bowl of Viprati in the MM Diplomat 5th Ave with a glass of Dr Pepper.
It was a nice day out today, so I went out to play with some wood. My tools have been idle too long, I need to get out of my head & into the shop more often.

I am currently puffing some GH&Co. Louisiana Perique in a straight Zulu by Ashton. While chatting in the Briar Patch Chat Room, I smoked several pipes. I didn't record which pipes or what tobacco. But we did have a nice chat.
