During the day I had one pipe full of GH&Co. Louisiana Per33ique Flake and several of C&D Crooner in the old rustic bent egg Big Ben. I now have some GH&Co. Rum Flake in a Peterson Donegal Rocky XL339 rustic bent billiard.

Last smoke tonight is Pegasus in the RobE Olivewood Rhodesian V1 with a tiger yellow acrylic ferrule and an sem cumberland stem. Its been a hellish day that started with a deer collision (I'm fine, the truck is now winking and the deer is dead) and was crazy busy all day. Looking forward to a slightly calmer tomorrow and a quiet weekend.

I have a wild story of doing the same thing, but while on a KZ400 way back in 1980. I was on my way to work just before sunrise. I'd just got the bike up to highway speed when a doe jumped out in front of me. Breaks were applied heavily, and when the doe looked like it was going to the right, I swerved to the left. Just then the doe went left, and we collided. I was probably doing only 10 or 15 mph, but my crash bar did her in. This was just as the sun was rising. Some other guys, also heading to work saw what happened, the offered to take me back home, and the deer. I got home, put the deer in the back yard. I then took my old pick-up and wife to retrieve the bike. When we got to the bike the sun was up well enough to be able to see well. The only damage bike was a bent crash bar, the ring around the headlight had come loose and the front fender was bent. I popped the headlight ring back into place, and straightened the fender with my fingers. My personal damage was that some hard part of the deer mashed my toes on my right foot and stung quite well. Took the day off from work and dressed the deer. Had I worn my work boots my toes would have been protected.
If I did the same now, it would probably have killed me, being 37 years older.

Got a care package from P&C today. So I tried the Sutliff Rum and Maple in a Carey Magic Inch. I also got a wind guard from ebay today, so I tried that too. Windsmoker is learning. The cap helped some, but lighting and relighting is a pain. The tobacco was too damp, I was in a hurry so I didn't dry it long enough. Still learning. I did learn the Magic Inch Pinch though. Pinching the stem over the vents allows more air to go through the tobacco when lighting. Learning...

Relaxing after a wonderful Mongolian beer and rice dinner with a bowl of RO Perique Series Blend P-37 in a 1938 straight black grain relief Dunhill OX Shell bulldog with a silver band repair and a black vulcanite stem. Indians and Royals are tied in the 10th. I'd like to see the Indians continue their winning streak. Their "fans" actually showed up tonight.

I went to the pipe club meeting tonight, had a good time there talking with the guys. I got to try some of Randy's 5100/perique mix in the MM Diplomat Apple, it was pretty durn good. He said it was 1/3 perique, but it wasn't real strong, taste wise. I ended up feeling like I needed to eat something on the way home though, so I stopped & got a burger & fries from Mickey D's.
Now smoking G&H Dark Birdseye in the MM Legend 5th Ave with a bottle of Dr Pepper. I guess I'm a glutton for punishment.
