Grumpy people are known to be slow smokers. Home from dinner at an Italian restaurant and I'm a quarter way through this bowl of MacBaren Modern Virginia Flake in a post WW2 Pre-Republic Peterson Dublin straight smooth X155 Bulldog with a sterling silver band and a black vulcanite p-lip stem. Watching the Red Sox-Orioles game before going back to work. Going to be busy for a while.

C&d bluegrass in a maddis bent blasted ball with a boxwood ferrule and beautiful ring grain transitioning to birdseye on the bottom of the stummel. This is my second bowl in this nee to me pipe and it smokes just as beautifully as the first one I have. Drinking a boylan creme made with pure cane sugar and a shorter ingredient list than many cocktails. Thanks JimInks for talking thisnsoda brand up so very much.

Following a nice supper of a small ribeye seared in an iron pan, small baked potato and chopped plant matter from the store- yard scrapings, leaves and what appears to be grass clippings, McClelland's Highland Whisky in a John Blunt Number 11 Billiard. A cool and quiet evening here. Enjoy yours!

Pa soft vanilla in the RobE olivewood rhodesian v1 with a yellow tiger ferrule and an sem cumberland stem. Still drinking the boylan creme, and listening to the chatter from the wife about work. Ready for bed its been a crazy week, but tomorrow is one of the reasons I do what I do. I get to spend all day with my Dad at the fair bidding on animals and talking to the local business owners that will be there as well.

Started out this evening smokin a bowl of MM965 in a bent billiard estate.
Then decided to break in my new Big Ben Bent Dublin with a bowl of Carter Hall. (one of the best reasons to buy a new briar is to break er in with some CH, love this tobacco. A definite cheap guilty pleasure)
Tryin to decide which briar to try a bowl of And so to Bed in.
I'll let ya know.....

After a little deliberation I decided to smoke my first bowl ever of And so to Bed in my gourd calabash. After all, it smokes Margate like a champ, so, what better pipe to try ASTB? First of all, the tin note is wonderful. It's sweet and fruity. After opening it revealing the beatiful contents I decided to remove a portion and let it dry for a while (I prefer my tobacco on the drier side). The texture of the tobacco is reminiscent of Margate, quite delicate and fine. After about an hour of drying time I packed my pipe. I'm about 1/2 way through the bowl, requiring only a couple of re-lights. The flavor is distinct. Different than the other Esoterica blends I've tried thus far, it is nonetheless a fantastic smoke. This is my first time at bat with this blend, and although it isn't as high on my list as Margate, it is still a wonderful smokey and fulfilling blend. I know, not quite a JimInks review, but hey, I'm still a relative noob to this.
