After a day's rest following Redemption Rye I find there is no redemption in it. However, smoke I did.
I have four pipes that were gifted to me. A Falcon called Fluffie, a Rhodesian named Ebeneezer, an Uncle Tom Filtomatic named Jacob, and then the Lavender Lady. All are in regular rotation.
Today I started with the two James (scrooge) gave me. A bowl of Five Brothers, also from him. That is my new Captain Black Grape the new Penzance. That was in the Ebenezer. Then I wanted to go back to a blend that I first tried with not a lot of love for it. I loaded up some Heine's in the Jacob Marley Filtomatic. This time I was able to "get" why people like this.
One of the biggest things I learned was the importance of the inside diameter of the stem. The two pipes today have performed flawlessly in a way that even I can't screw up. So, though I have not been redeemed, I feel pretty darned good

I had other things come up & just got around to bringing the car to my usual garage today. I explained to them what went on at the other shop & had them check it out. The mechanic came in to talk to me after completing the service & said their was hardly any freon in the car. They evacuated what was left, pressure checked it & filled it. He said the other shop must have had a problem with their machine & it never filled the freon, that's why he thought the compressor was bad.
All I know is that I am pleased the A/C is blowing cold air again & I didn't need a costly repair, just an honest garage!
On topic .... LTF in the MM Diplomat 5th Ave, still drinking ice tea.
