I take no credit whatsoever in linking to this information over at pipesmokerunlimited. Troy does a really excellent job in finding lots of history, pricing sheets, catalogues, first hand accounts, and everything in between on everything that is UK traditional tobacco. So what I'll do is link to it, in case anyone is interested in VERY detailed history on just tons of plugs and twists and rolls, etc. that were historically made in the UK, Scotland, and Ireland. Yes, you do have to create an account there just to take a look at all the charts and pictures, and read the entire thread. I apologize, it's setup that way for security reasons. May change that.

And when I say extensive, there are over 50 pictures of old photographs of making the twists from generation to generation, even comparing ladies making the twists in the late 1800's, to the 1930's, to the 1970's. TONS of photos of old packaging, signage, pricing. Again, all credit to Troy, who goes by MisterLowerCase or PhiloFumo elsewhere.
