We see a lot of threads where people show unGodly beautiful, expensive pipes. How about posting your brand name "seconds" and basket pipes, and other cheap dates? Since there are more than one cob thread, let's excuse them from this thread.

Here's a Gigi Seville that I picked up some years back in an antique mall:
An old Medico that I always liked the leaf carvings on and smokes flake like a champ:

This one is probably my favorite refurb. It's a beautiful little Yacht that had a chip out of the toe. After hours and hours of sanding and polishing it came out pretty nice.

This little bulldog is just stamped Le Martinet. I got it from a friend who's father was a pipe smoker. I believe that the pipe is from the 1960's.

This is a Ben Wade/Charatan second that I bought in the early 80's. The Huntsman shape is one that I like and it smoke pretty good too. It was black when I got it, but I've been working on the finish with the buffer.

I don't know who made this pipe as it's only stamped Made In London England. What I do know is that I had a mid 80's Sasieni 4 Dot, you know the mediocre release of the Sasieni name, that had this same shape. I'm not sure why I got rid of it, but I always thought the shape was interesting. (Bullmato?) A Possible Sasieni second or third, so when I saw this, I had to have it. A good smoking if slightly heavy pipe for about $15. Ok, so Jim, where's your second or basket pipe?

I guess this isn't an official second, but it was a pipe that Scottie was working on and the shank cracked, just at the base of the bowl. She made a new one for me, but still had this one. I told her she was crazy if she didn't think I was going to buy both. Considering all her pipes have a stainless steel tube through the shank, I saw no issue with the tiny crack. One of my favorites to date.

Facing right, James Upshall Tilshead Canadians, finest kind. It requires a Mag Lite and magnifying glass to detect any imperfections. Facing left, unfinished Savinelli Lumbermen, best bang for the buck out there IMHO. I'd probably be fine with just these briars, a few cobs and my meers.
